MALAM was founded near Paris in 2007 by Emmanuelle-Marie, an EM Lyon and ESMOD Paris graduate with a taste for clothing that stands a little outside the mainstream.

The first collection, Lost Dolls, set the tone for the brand: one-of-a-kind pieces made from vintage floral and retro fabrics, unexpected colour combinations and playful details, alongside small runs of easy-to-wear jersey clothing.

MALAM has since moved to La Charité-sur-Loire in Burgundy, where the same independent approach continues today. Each design is developed, patterned, cut and made in the MALAM workshop by Emmanuelle-Marie, a certified French artisan designer.

One-of-a-kind pieces, small batches, customisable clothing and made-to-measure designs all share the same approach: distinctive clothes made with care, individuality and a generous dose of imagination.
